We officially have enough money now to do the iPad mini scholarship, and the generous people at Speak For Yourself (www.speakforyourself.org) have agreed to provide a copy of their software for the winner as well.
We’ve decided the rules will be as follows:
Write an essay/draw a picture/make a storyboard/create a video/whatever form of communication best suits you that explains how an iPad will enhance your life and why you should win it. Send your entry to email@example.com no later than midnight Pacific time on April 5th, 2014.
This contest is open to any Autistic person over the age of 16 at the time of entry. A person can be nominated by self, friend, family member, or coworker. Self or professional diagnosis is OK, we ask only that you identify as Autistic. Donation to TiDT does not increase your chances of winning at all.
We will be picking the winner by April 23rd in hopes of getting the iPad into the hands of said adult by the end of Autism Acceptance Month. Selection will be by committee and all decisions are final.
We are trying to get this iPad into the hands of someone who would otherwise not be able to afford it. We aren’t doing any kind of means testing or anything, but we are asking for honesty. Please do not apply if you can otherwise afford your own tablet. Please do not apply for resale. We worked really hard to get this!
Entries need to include full name, mailing address, year of birth (for age verification), email address, and your essay/storyboard/whatever. Again, please send to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than April 5th. Thank you! We have one iPad mini to give away, and we’re working on getting an Android tablet as well. Details on that to follow if we get enough fundage.
Open to US and Canadian residents over the age of 16.
